Whether you're looking to splash out or keep to a budget, our Insider has the best unbiased Perth hotel info out there.
Parmelia Hilton
Location! Location! Location! Just off St Georges Terrace in the heart of the CBD, a stone's throw from the Convention Centre and His Majesty's Theatre, and a hop, skip and jump to the shopping malls on Hay and Murray Streets. But I love the Parmelia most for its classic decor — 1940s chic.
The Melbourne Hotel
At the top end of town, this heritage-listed 100-year old pub still caters to weary travellers, is close to the CBD and shopping streets, sits across from popular Indian and Japanese restaurants and has a pumping bar of a Friday.
The Richardson
Those in the know know The Richardson is the place to go. Save up and book in for an overnight Escape Package which includes dinner at their swish restaurant, Opus, breakfast in the morning, and a discount on spa treatments. Find it in the leafy back streets of West Perth; but that's just between you and me. And probably the garden post.
www.burswood.com.au
The resort, with stunning views back to the city and only 15 minutes from the airport, is set on 100 hectares of parklands, features a casino, a theatre, and a golf course, hosts concerts and is home to the Hopman Cup. Jetsetters opt for the Intercontinental and families are right at home at the Holiday Inn.

Broadwater Resort Apartments
Situated 10 minutes down the freeway from the city, these modern fully self-contained apartments are in a lovely possie overlooking the Swan River (and freeway), and have a ripper pool. Nearby there are shops and boutiques, a supermarket and tavern, restaurants and cafes, and the charming, independent Cygnet Cinema.
City Beach Bed and Breakfast
A homey abode in a coastal enclave with a park/playground opposite, this B&B is situated just off West Coast Highway in between the beach and the bush. The beach is a five-minute minute walk away up hill, down dale and through the dunes; and the bush, Bold Park, a coastal nature reserve, is three minute the other way.
Ocean Beach Backpackers
Set behind the Ocean Beach Hotel (OBH), this backpackers has that laidback beach vibe where you come for a day and stay for a week; plus they offer free use of surfboards and body boards. Life's never bad with a drink in hand catching the sunset on the glass at the OBH.
Perth City YHA
Attention Flashpackers: this one's for you! Set in a renovated 1940s building with art deco flourishes, it's got 4½ stars, it's won Best Backpacker Accommodation for three years running, it features a pool and gymnasium, library and television room, and is in the heart of Perth.
Underground Backpackers
Here in party central you have all the pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants of Northbridge at your disposal. Features for guests include the pool, the bar, Foxtel, the large-screen TV down in the dungeon, free food nights, and no limits on length of stay.
The Port Mill Bed and Breakfast
Pretty as a picture is this B&B's inner courtyard, with balconies perched high on old limestone walls looking onto the central water fountain. The Old Port Mill, dating back to 1863, is part of this complex of stylishly appointed rooms; and near-at-hand is the wealth of Freo's attractions.

Definately the place to stay in the country........The rooms are the best outside of Perth clean and you don't have to share toilets. Try the spa rooms..... Restaurant is good value and service is great.....home from home !!! guaranteed a good nights sleep. Don't bother with any of the other places in town they're (not good at all) !!!.
